Misleading

Neiman Marcus really screwed the pooch this time. They show a great pair of shorts from Stella McCartney in their latest email, but when you click in, the shorts are completely different. Not exactly sure what happened here, but the shorts in the email are ridiculously cute, while the shorts on the site are quite the opposite. It looks like the shorts are too big for her, and she was wriggling around on the ground or something...this is what happens - the shorts ride up and wind up around your torso. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate high waisted, and I can appreciate short...boy, can I appreciate short, but these shorts just look gross to me. They're not sexy or flattering...so why wear them out? I can see if the waistline is covered by whatever top she's wearing, but why should you have to cover half of your garment in order for it to look good? Maybe it's just me on this one, but definitely not my cup of tea.

Though, despite the travesty above, SM proves she knows how to make a damn fine dress or two...

Yowza

I have to say, I'm a bit behind in following the runways, but I'm glad I decided to make one of my first stops the Fall '10 line from Zac Posen. Some of it is a bit over the top, but that's just the runway talking...and most of it is definitely wearable. There were a number of pieces I'd steal for my girlfriend if I were in that sample room, and some separates that would remain just that - separate. But there was one piece in particular that I couldn't avoid sharing as my favorite...

The First

So, this is the first post...to be honest, I probably should've waited until I was in a more creative mood. Though, I'm pretty proud of my blog title. I guess I'll try to identify what this blog is all about here in the first post since I'm not quite sure whether I'm going to have a blog description under the header or not.

I basically have some random tastes in life. This blog will be my outlet to better explore those tastes, and will hopefully help me discover which exactly is my passion. I already have a strong feeling as to what this blog will mostly contain, given my preliminary links on the sidebar, but I'll leave it up to time to reveal what topics I care to discuss more than others.

Hopefully my blog is worth reading to someone other than myself, but if not, it'll have to suffice as a channel for self discovery.
